The new Zig Zag crate from Plasgad is both nestable and stackable without moving parts requiring maintanence and without rotating the crate 180 degrees, making it a more efficient solution especially when automated labelling is used.

New Zig Zag stacking crate from Plasgad: more efficient in automation as secondary packaging solution

Nestable, Stackable Crates

For more efficient return transportation and storage nestable crates are proven to be more economical, and save up to 40% of space. Yet to be practical crates also need to be stackable, either on bail arms (separate movable parts which need to be moved into position, and add cost as they need to be maintained), or by turning around 180° to nest.

In an automated environment labels are applied to one side of the crate as it is filled - but if later the crate needs to turned for nesting, the label is no longer accessible for scanning.

Zig Zag Stacking Crate

Plasgad's new Zig Zag stacking crate provides a solution. The crates nest and stack without having to turn them around, and without any separate moving parts like bail arms. Simply move approx 1 cm to the left or right in turn, and the crates stack neatly on the stacking notches.

The easy-to-clean crate is available with ventilated or solid walls. Crate size is based on the standard 600x400 mm, 160 mm high, with allowance made for the zig zag arrangement so they still fit standard 800x1200 mm or 1000x1200 mm pallet sizes. The crates nest in 3:1 ratio, maximising floor space inside the crate for a 15 kg load.
