The New Cake Line - 'A Piece of Cake'!

Consumers are quite rightly expecting higher standards from fresh cakes & pastries. The presentation must look fresh and attractive, not just on the shelves in the shop, but also when the cakes are brought home.

Thus the packaging plays a critical role, particularly at the point of sale. At the moment the consumer serves the cakes they must look and taste as if they have been freshly purchased from a specialist high quality patisserie.

Veriplast International has developed a new line of cake packaging that meets the stringent requirements of today’s consumer. The Fresh Cakes & Pastries range has a number of unique characteristics that makes it possible to present cakes optimally and maintain their freshness in a very easily used packaging system.

Optimal ease of use

The series uses the 'VeriEasy^®' opening system - a new easy-to-use system for opening and closing the lid. In addition the tamper-evident principle guarantees that the packaging reaches the consumer unopened. The system is so innovative that Veriplast has been able to apply for new European patents.

The high-quality appearance and texture promote visibility and attract attention. During the design a lot of attention was paid to ergonomics. The packaging is easy to place on and remove from shelving and refrigerated displays. Tests in practice have shown that these characteristics have a very positive effect on sales.

A complete range

The new cake & pastry line is complete, identifiable, high quality and functional. The full range takes account of the current offering of fresh cakes on the market, so there is something for everyone. The range contains seven types of packaging:

The characteristics of Veriplast’s Fresh Cakes & Pastries range with the VeriEasy^® opening system:

• the packaging consists of separate lid and base pieces made of APET
• the striking texture draws attention to the packaging
• the packaging line includes a complete range (round, square, rectangular and half-round) with a high-quality appearance
• the distinctive design ensures that the various types of packaging are an easily identifiable family
• the low base (2.5 cm) has a robust bottom plate (ribbed) and an easily recognisable shape
• the ergonomic design ensures that the packaging is easy to remove from shelves or refrigerated display
• the packaging is easy to open and close, thanks to the unique, patented opening system - base and lid are secured using a tamper-evident system
• the edge of the lid is provided with integrated ventilation holes
