The New Zig Zag Nestable, Stackable Crate From Plasgad
The new Zig Zag crate from Plasgad is both nestable and stackable without moving part...
A New Year and New Decade, time for change! Time to study every possible option to reduce damage to the environment, reduce waste and land-fill - and at the same time reduce overall costs.
Over the last 30 years Plasgad has developed a range of plastic pallets, crates, boxes and trays to replace traditional wooden and carton packaging.
The advantages of injection-moulded plastic pallets and crates are by now proven, and the range of Plasgad’s products has evolved usually in reply to specific requirements of the various market sectors, including dairy, meat and poultry, fish, fruit and vegetables, beverage, pharmaceuticals, chemicals, electronics and other non-food products.
The use of carton packaging in particular is under scrutiny in looking to improve efficiency and save costs. In today’s mass retail environment the single-use carton is unpacked when the supermarket shelves are filled, and the empty carton is taken to the back of the store for disposal. The challenges and expenses of collecting, transporting, crushing and then removing the majority of carton to landfill sites – sometimes overseas as far away as China! – are now being questioned.
Returnable packaging needs to be as efficient as possible in transportation when empty, which has resulted in the development of stack-and-nest and foldable crates and other containers. Plasgad has a number of these items in the product range.
In particular foldable crates are efficient for returnable packaging. Plasgad’s crates are designed for secure transportation when folded flat, with security posts at each corner to avoid them slipping.
Nestable and stackable attached lid containers are also available from Plasgad in 2 sizes, 45L and 60L capacity.
