GMG CoZone — Collaboration and Color Management in the Cloud
At this years drupa GMG will be introducing their new GMG CoZone; a comprehensive web...
GMG have developed software packages 'GMG PrintControl' and 'GMG ProofControl' to offer a quality control solution which ensures uniform color parameters.
It is now common place for companies to house processing centers a distance apart from one another, even locating them on different continents. This can prove to be problematic when consistence and standardized color is of high importance and as a result a reliable, controlled system is now necessary to ensure the same quality is being achieved across the board.
International standards have been set in an attempt to tackle this issue, such as the ISP 12647, however to be able to conform to said standards companies require a software solution for their printers.
The quality control solutions from GMG help to do just that.
The GMG PrintControl software has been designed to provide a user friendly process control solution able to deliver reliable standardization for printing presses.
The software produces foreseeable results and automatically supports ISO 12647-2, 12647-3 & NPDC (Near Neutral Print Density Curve) international standards allowing standardisation from the beginning to the very end.
A wizard has been designed within the GMG PrintControl system to support the user through the standardization and control process and the ProfileEditor is an addition that allows for user-defined in-house standards.
GMG PrintControl includes functions such as:
Companies using GMG PrintControl will benefit from heightened production reliability and productivity. This is achieved by raising the print quality of any press regardless of age, swift repetition of processing jobs and the capacity to attain identical colors using different presses.
The design of the GMG ProofControl system has been catered to provide a quality control solution for digital color proofs that meet a predefined standard. This makes it possible to ensure the proof accurately imitates the following printing process.
GMG ProofControl is able to detect the occurrence of any slight anomaly or error early on in the process allowing for the appropriate actions to be taken. The software has been developed to verify the proof against international standards which include, but are not limited to, ISO Offset, PSR Gravure (ECI), SWOP and 3DAP. This helps to control the quality of digital color proofs but it is also possible to alter the quality specifications to any desired settings.
Companies using the GMG ProofControl software will benefit from a guaranteed standard allowing for reliable production, fewer complaints and dependable communication processes.
A supplementary module is available for the GMG ColorProof 5.2 software entitled 'GMG ProofControl Inline'. This provides fully automatic proofing alongside rapid and accurate verification of contone proofs on Epson Sylus Pro printers.
Label printers including the Zebra TLP 2824, Zebra TLP 2824 Plus and Dymo Labelwriter 400/450 are also supported by GMG ProofControl following on from the 1.5 version.
