Absolute, who produce chambers specifically for Absolute Engineering, has completed the installation of 6 woven carbon fiber chambers, specifically designed for water based ink, for a major European tissue converter.
The installation of the New Chamber Profile for Water Based Ink is part of a complete refurbishment and upgrade of a 1700mm wide Cobden Chadwick Tissueflex flexopress, which will be integrated into a new high performance tissue conversion line.
The design of the New Chamber Profile for Water Based Ink is one of a new generation of units developed by Absolute to prevent an issue commonly referred to as "back doctoring".
Antony Whiteside of Absolute commented:
"We see a lot of traditional chambers installed on water based ink systems where the supplier clearly has not understood the relationship between anilox rollers and chambered doctor blades when applying water based ink. Absolute have significant experience in this area, and we have invested considerable resources in the project, alongside our partners in the tissue conversion and corrugated post printer sectors. Together we have produced a carbon fibre profile that provides a great solution. We have already experienced significant interest from tissue converters for both print decoration and tissue lamination, and corrugators with both pre print and high quality post print".
The new chambers are being launched at the FEFCO conference, Munich, Tissue World, Nice and INFO*FLEX Indianapolis.
