Following last month's acquisition of Autowrappers, Europack and GEI Ashford, a new Bradman Lake company is being formed.

Bradman Lake Group Limited will own the assets and manage the combined operations of the three former GEI businesses and current Bradman Lake companies in Bristol, Charlotte USA and Wiggensbach Germany.

Graham Hayes, formerly chairman and Chief Executive of Bradman Lake, becomes Chief Executive of the enlarged Group company. A new position of independent, non-executive Chairman has been created and Mr. Christopher Marks has accepted the Board’s invitation to take up the appointment.

Well known in the packaging industry and currently chairman of Man Roland Europe, Chris Marks was previously Managing Director of Bosch Packaging UK. He was also one of the first Presidents of PPMA, the Processing & Packaging Machinery Association.

Welcoming the appointment, Graham Hayes said: “These are exciting times at Bradman Lake. Chris Marks brings a wealth of experience of the international packaging industry to our new Group which is now a £30 million company with over 400 employees. Chris’s appointment allows me to concentrate on delivering our plan and making the Bradman Lake Group a truly integrated international packaging machinery business.”

In a further move towards full integration, former GEI Director David Wright has been appointed to the Bradman Lake Group board and becomes Managing Director of Autowrappers and Europack.

The new combined company has flowrapping, product handling, cartoning and end-of-line packaging machinery capability enabling the Group to offer complete packaging systems from a single source.
