Folienprint Rako GmbH Installs Parts Washer from Flexo Wash

The German company Folienprint Rako GmbH has recently installed a Parts Washer model PK 250 Front Load from the Danish company Flexo Wash.

Folienprint is an innovative company that belongs to the international Rako-Group. Folienprint has experienced an over average growth and therefore they were in need of more space for obtaining further growth. Until the removal Folienprint used the cleaning equipment at Rako Etiketten, Germany but when the company moved to the new buildings, it was necessary to invest in a new parts washer.

Anilox Roll Cleaners from Flexo Wash

Folienprint already had an Anilox Roll Cleaner from Flexo Wash and is very satisfied with its performance. According to the technical manager Mr. Maurer, it was only natural to call the Flexo Wash agent in Germany, Dortschy GmbH & Co. KG to talk about the possibility for a parts washer from Flexo Wash.

In the search for a parts washing machine that would fit Folienprint’s demands, offers from other companies were collected. The PK Front Load system offered by Flexo Wash together with the trust from cooperation with Dortschy were the key factors in deciding on this project with Flexo Wash.

Also it was very important for Folienprint that the machine was user friendly and easy to operate. “The machine is very easy to load from the front compared with other machines that would have to be loaded from the top. This is also one of the reasons for deciding on the Flexo Wash solution”, Mr. Maurer says.

Custom-built Parts Washer Machines  

The Parts Washers from the Flexo Wash Front Load product line are custom built machines. They are built for the specific demands of the individual customer.

The PK 250 FL at Folienprint is equipped with a slid-in grid and a permanent grid. Also it is equipped with a box were small buckets and machine parts can be placed. Further more it is possible to rinse hoses in the unit. With this machine Folienprint has a very flexible washing solution, which enables them to clean all parts from their four presses.

Depending on their needs, Folienprint washes 2-3 washes per day. Each wash cycle takes about 25-30 minutes. Until now Folienprint has washed approx. 700 wash cycles with their new machine.

Flexo Wash has developed several other options for the PK Front Load. Among others are as follows:

• Special racks for ink trays and chambers - customised for the individual printing press.
• Transports trolleys with slide-in grid for all types of parts.

The parts are easily loaded at the printing press and driven to the parts washer on the trolley. Here the parts are slid from the trolley into the washing machine without any further handling. After ended wash cycle the grid with the parts is slid onto the trolley again and the clean parts can be driven back to the press. In this way, the parts are only handled once.

Technical Machine Service's

Decisive for choosing Flexo Wash as machine supplier is among others the fast reaction from their technical service department. “ If we have a problem with a machine, Flexo Wash reacts immediately. Usually the technician will arrive within a day after the reported problem”, Mr. Maurer says.

ATEX- Machines

Folienprint has decided to use environmentally friendly liquids for the cleaning of parts. However, it is also possible to have the machine in a ATEX approved version, which will be able to wash with solvents. For this solution Flexo Wash offers a complete “solvent package” with distillation and piping.
