The production of any wrapped product relies on the film, laminate foil or coated papers and board having the right additives to allow the material to efficiently slip over complex packaging machines to form tubes, pouches, bags and over wraps.

Coefficient of Friction Tester

If the material does not have the right amount of additive or does not include the slip additive, the material will have poor slip properties; will bind up, stick and tare during the packaging process.

RDM have the answer with their new CF-800XS Coefficient of Friction Tester, designed to measure the friction coefficient of these flexible materials.

The new CF-800XS will operate to many of the international test methods used in measuring coefficient of friction. The machine provides static and dynamic (starting and running) values important for packaging engineers to set up starting and running forces on the packaging machines.

The CF-800XS features a touch sensitive display panel for setting up your test and measuring the values, together with RS232 output that sends the data to custom designed software for data recording and management.

Ease of operation is the main feature with clear and accurate measurement of Force and Coefficient of Friction values. All contained in a robust construction means the new machine will suit quality control end of line test cells through to research laboratories aiding in the development of new materials and coatings.
