Providing a cost-effective alternative to fully computerized systems
Instron® , a leading provider of testing equipment designed to evaluate mechanical properties of materials and components, offers its new TouchPanel controller for its 3300 Series Electromechanical Instruments. Based on the latest touch-screen technology the controller brings an innovative level of simplicity and ease-of-use to mechanical testing.
The TouchPanel controller is ideal for simple tension or compression tests, as well as routine, established quality control (QC) screenings of materials and components. TouchPanel test data can be transferred to a memory stick and/or printed to a local device. The number of test methods that can be saved for future use is virtually unlimited.
For increased productivity, the TouchPanel offers two testing modes: the 'Quick Test' mode for simple, one-time tests; and 'Method-Based Testing' used for structured, pre-configured test applications. Additionally, QC users can choose from three formats to display results: a new Pass/Fail display provides an immediate and clear indication of whether test results are within specified limits; a table of results; and a live graph.
Customers can select from 11 different 3300 Series frame capacities used for testing fibers ranging from less than a pound force to metals at over 56,000 lbf. Touchpanel options include USB interfaces to a printer, memory stick, and keyboard (for ease of alpha-numeric entry).
